Facebook just announced in a press release that they will be adding a simple way to give on Instagram via Instagram stories. The announcement states that this will be done with Stickers, allowing nonprofit organizations to select and drag a “Donate Now” button on top of their story.

Facebook hopes this raises even more money through their platforms, especially after announcing that over $1B was donated through their platform in 2018 alone! Anything over that would be quite the accomplishment, which is what they’re striving to do.

Link in Bio — To Donate or Not to Donate?

With the new Donate Button coming to stories sometime this year, it might be wise to utilize your link in bio another way. Our recommendation? Create a new Story dedicated to online donations & giving, with the new Donation stickers. Then save these stories as highlights so they occupy the first circle on your Instagram profile story highlight row. Then you label it “Donate” and the user can click the icon to launch the story with the Donate Sticker on it.

As always, feel free to reach out to us for help with your nonprofit website.

Cheers!

Shane
